Our Airbnb Stay in Manuel Antonio: Jungle Views, Monkey Serenades, and a Whole Lotta Wow
If waking up to the sound of howler monkeys, parrots, and scarlet macaws is your kind of morning music, then this condo in Manuel Antonio might just be your dream come true.

Last month, my sister and I stayed in a stunning Airbnb condo perched above the Pacific Ocean. And let me tell you—it was everything the listing promised and more. From the moment we stepped onto the large balcony and took in the sweeping ocean views, we knew this was going to be a magical stay.
👉 Here’s the listing if you want to see it for yourself.
Here’s What We Loved:
- Views that stop time: Every morning started with a cup of coffee on the balcony while parrots and scarlet macaws flew by like they were part of a private wildlife parade. In the evening, we’d return to that same spot and soak in the most epic sunsets over the Pacific. Zero regrets.

- Soundtrack by nature: Howler monkeys provided our wake-up call (no snooze button, sorry) and birds chirped us into the day. If you’re the type that likes white noise, this is your jungle playlist come to life.
- A space that breathes: With three bedrooms, a living room, a fully stocked kitchen, and enough elbow room for 3 adults and 3 kids, we weren’t crawling over each other. This was especially helpful when it came to keeping the peace between beach trips.

- Pack light, live right: That washer/dryer combo was a game changer. We didn’t have to bring the whole closet, and we even got to fly home with clean clothes. Tell me that’s not a win.
- Sustainable touches: Recycling containers were available—and actually labeled. Small thing? Maybe. Definitely a step in the right direction.
- Convenient location: Super Joseth market was within walking distance for all the snack runs, water refills, and emergency chocolate situations should one arise. There’s also a bus stop literally right outside the complex—perfect for when you don’t feel like hoofing it in the heat or want to head to Quepos.

- Weather and beach-ready amenities: We visited during the rainy season, and the hosts totally had us covered (literally) – the condo was stocked with plenty of umbrellas. They also supply guests with loads of beach towels, which come in handy for both the beach and the apartment’s pool. Those are the kind of details that make a huge difference—and save you from having to dry off with your last clean t-shirt.

Tips for Your Stay
- Beach Walk? Be Prepared. Manuel Antonio and Biesanz Beaches are both about 1.5 miles away, and that walk? It’s not for the faint of heart. It’s up and down hills with the kind of heat and humidity that’ll humble you fast. Take water (add electrolytes if you want to feel like a pro), wear proper shoes, and pace yourself.
- Balcony Time is Sacred – This is your sunrise-and-sunset sanctuary. Bring a good book, some binoculars, and your favorite travel mug. Trust me.
- Breakfast with a View – One morning, my sister and I walked over to Hotel La Mariposa, which sits on a bluff with panoramic views. We stopped to watch a troop of monkeys in the palm trees. In Costa Rica, nature truly is wild. BTW – their restaurant, Papillon (“butterfly” in French), serves an excellent breakfast.
- Use the Kitchen – Even if you’re not big on cooking, having a fridge, stove, and real dishes makes a huge difference for a longer stay, especially with kids. Slice up some local fruit, scramble some eggs, and you’ve got breakfast with a view.
Would I Stay Here Again?
Without hesitation. (In fact, my sister has previously stayed at Colonial Pacifico with her family.) It was peaceful, spacious, convenient, and every bit as beautiful as the listing claimed. Between the wildlife, the views, and the thoughtful amenities, this place truly felt like a home base in paradise.
